| Homeopathy |
Homeopathy is a therapy that understands the healing power of nature and treats the whole person by looking at the physical, mental, and emotional symptoms of an individual. It is based on the principle of "like cures like." If a substance can cause symptoms in a healthy person, then it can stimulate self-healing of similar symptoms in a sick person. Homeopathic remedies are prepared from small amounts of natural substances that bring about healing actions in the body. Clinical observation indicates that it works on a subtle, yet powerful, energetic level, gently acting to strengthen the body's healing and immune response and triggering a healing process. |

| Clinical Nutrition |
The common adage of "Food is the best medicine" is a cornerstone of naturopathic practice. Naturopaths understand that what we choose to eat directly influences every outcome of our health. Without adequate nutrition, we cannot function properly. The body's biochemistry is delicately balanced and thrives on key nutrients, antioxidant rich and toxin free foods. Clinical nutrition is using what we eat to enhance our health, reverse disease and heal pathology. Adopting a healthy diet is often the first step towards correcting health problems. Many medical conditions can be treated more effectively with foods and nutritional supplements than they can by other means, with fewer complications and side effects. Nutritional recommendations are customized to the individual's needs and health concerns. "We are what we eat!" |

| Dietary Supplements |
Not only can inadequate nutrition lead to disease, but also certain disease processes can wear on the body and create deficiencies, which lead to further disease. Naturopathic practitioners use vitamins, minerals, enzymes, cofactors, trace elements, and other key biochemical constituents to replace deficiencies and strengthen vitality in order to support the innate healing wisdom of the body. Once these essential nutrients and healing constituents are replaced, the body will remember the balance of health and heal itself! |
| |
| Detoxification |
In today's world, children and adults are now being exposed to greater quantities of pollutants and chemicals in the environment and food supply. These chemicals interact synergistically in the body to increase their negative effects, which burden our bodies and overwhelm our natural detoxification pathways. Naturopathic detoxification, supplementation and immune restoration therapies for general cleansing and to eliminate heavy metals and environmental toxicities are an important aspect of naturopathic practice. |

| Botanical Medicine |
|
Many plant substances are powerful medicines. Their organic nature makes most botanicals compatible with the body's own chemistry allowing them to be gently effective with few toxic side effects. Plant medicines bolster the immune system, speed wound healing time, calm inflammation, enhance mood, aid digestion, improve cardiovascular health and regulate blood glucose levels, to name a few. Naturopathic practitioners receive training in preparing and administering herbs in many forms including teas, liquid herbal extracts and tinctures, tablets, encapsulations, salves and poultices to treat a myriad of health imbalances. |
| |
| Lifestyle Programs |
If a person is living with disease or is interested in disease prevention and healthy aging, lifestyle modifications can be the key to a healthy life. Naturopathy recognizes both the physical and nonphysical components of health and disease. The mind, body and spirit are part of the healing equation, and ignoring psychological or spiritual troubles can only lead to deterioration in mental and physical well-being. Exchanging disease-promoting habits for healthy ones isn't always easy, but the results can significantly improve our health. Naturopathic practitioners become health coaches in this sense and work alongside their patients to offer education, support and encouragement as needed during the healing process. Therapeutic lifestyle programs help you maintain a healthy body composition to improve health, manage disease, feel better and reduce your risk to more serious conditions. |

| Naturopathic Consultations |
A visit to a naturopathic practitioner, or N.D., will be similar to a visit with your family doctor. Your first visit may take up to an hour and a half. During this time, Dr. Dengler will take a comprehensive look at your medical history as well as the physical, mental, emotional, environmental and lifestyle factors affecting your condition. Following the initial consult, Dr. Dengler will analyze the case and create an individualized healthcare plan for the patient which may include diet changes, nutritional supplements, exercise, and lifestyle and stress management recommendations. The patient will need to schedule this follow-up appointment to review the healthcare plan. |

| Constitutional Hydrotherapy |
Hydrotherapy is a treatment modality that uses water therapy to move stagnant circulation and lymphatic flow throughout the body. When the circulation is compromised or stagnant, disease can take hold. The application of hot water pulls blood into the area under the application bringing in fresh nutrients and immune cells. Cold water pushes blood away from the area of application and helps to clear inflammation. Naturopaths use hydrotherapy to stimulate the vital force of the body, promote detoxification and stimulate the healing process of common illnesses such as upper respiratory infections, broken bones and skin ulcers. |

| Infrared Sauna |
The hot, dry air of the infrared sauna is therapeutically different than a steam room sauna. The radiant heat penetrates the body to increase circulation and remove toxins and wastes. As the body warms from the gentle heat of the sauna, your body produces sweat, burns calories and works to clear cellulite. The penetration of the heat helps to ease aches, pains, stiffness and soreness of muscles and joints. The infrared sauna also helps to strengthen the immune and cardiovascular systems, improve the skin and most importantly promote relaxation. |
